I am a professional, practicing artist with a Master’s degree and many years of facilitation and tutoring experience. I enjoy working for Seasons because there is a constantly changing curriculum that challenges me, as an artist, to develop my skills in order to pass on the knowledge to my students. The curriculum is relaxed with scope for individual expression and exploration for the students.

Testimonials From Our Students

I was heading towards retirement and like so many in this situation, decided that this was time for me to do something that I hadn't done since my school days. I remembered enjoying drawing and painting so I decided to look for an art course.

I knew I didn't want an adult education in a formal setting, and so I found Seasons on Facebook and thought it looked interesting. I signed up, and then spent some time wondering what I had done in the nearly fifty years that had passed since I had last drawn or painted.

I was then concerned that I was going to have to spend a fortune on equipment and materials, but these are all provided! On the first day I turned up with a couple of HB pencils, a lot of doubts and a feeling of dread. It was like the first day at school again.

Within fifteen minutes all my worries were taken away, the tutor said all you need for art is paper, a pencil and a wish to achieve something. We all started by looking at how we draw by seeing things. We drew a chicken the right way up then upside down the effect was amazing. We had a break and by talking to others there, I realised it wasn't a class, it was a place where like minded people who enjoyed the action of ``ART`` but weren't judged how good or bad at drawing, painting etc their skills were, and how much everyone enjoyed the sessions.

Having completed three Seasons courses and signed up for a fourth I can only say this speaks for itself. You build on skills each week using all different mediums in a relaxed community atmosphere. The tutors are knowledgeable and very good at the various mediums, and Cully is very professional. The main reason for me is the friendly atmosphere where I can do something that I have found after all this time I enjoy, and feel a sense of achievement every week. I always leave looking forward to the next week.

All my life I have had an interest in art and when my Mother passed away 4 years ago, I decided to find an Art course to further my interest.

The Seasons Art Class explores all media such as watercolour (which has been a favourite of mine) pencils, ink, acrylics, oil and soft pastel across each course, where you have the opportunity to develop your own strengths and interests. Each week, you have a new subject tackle.

Since joining Seasons, I have always found the students to be a very friendly and welcoming group, most returning for the next course over the years which is a recommendation in itself!

The tutors give clear and concise instructions at the start of each session, and Cully the course co-ordinator is continually on hand to help and advise individually. Each student can work to their own strengths and capabilities, and you never feel under pressure to finish first or be the ‘Best in the Class’!

Finally, apart from forming new friendships, the time together is a continual enjoyable experience, sharing each-others love of the art world together. I would highly recommend joining Seasons, and I know if you do, you will not be disappointed.

I have been attending Seasons art classes for the last 6 years and have enjoyed them immensely. The tutors are well informed and make learning fun. I started with very little experience in art, and have loved learning new techniques and using new mediums. It never gets boring. It's one of the few times in the week when I can totally switch off. I thoroughly recommend it!

I have been a part of The Seasons Art Class for a number years and have really enjoyed the whole experience. It’s a friendly group and with the wonderful guidance from Chantal who is our Tutor, I now feel that my work is progressing well.

The course co-ordinator Cully is very reliable and very well organised in all she does. I like the way Cully keeps us all informed in relation to any changes in the weekly running of the class i.e. school holiday dates, provides prompt receipts for all payments made, sends us reminders i.e. you will require gloves for the next session, and all our art equipment is in place upon our arrival to classes. I feel the classes and organisation promote a valued and welcoming environment where art skills can progress.
