We’ve answered some of the most common questions about Seasons Art Class® art courses here. If your query isn’t covered, please feel free to get in touch – we’re always happy to assist.
Each course runs for 14 weeks, finishing with a gallery-style exhibition where you can display the pieces you’ve created during the course.
Each session is 3 hours long, giving you plenty of time to explore your creativity and make progress. Classes are held weekly, and you can select a morning or afternoon slot to suit your schedule (subject to availability).
Nearly all materials are provided except for paper/sketch pads and pencils, which can be purchased in a starter pack containing just enough for the course at a minimal cost. These come in a handy portfolio-style case, which is made from eco-friendly and recyclable materials, perfect for storing your supplies and reusing them.
It’s advisable to book ahead to secure your spot, but it’s always worth checking for last-minute availability. You might get lucky, especially if someone has had to reschedule – a seat could open up just for you!
The course is structured to make catching up easy. You’ll have access to detailed handouts and instructional videos for the class you missed, allowing you to review the missed lesson in your own time.
Class sizes vary by venue, but we cap attendance to ensure each student gets ample one-on-one guidance from our two team members running the class. Check availability at your nearest location using our enquiry form.
Yes! We have become accustomed to seeing around 50% of students returning for further courses. The satisfaction of their artistic progress, the well-designed curriculum, and the friendships formed keep them coming back term after term.
We currently offer classes across New Zealand – please use our location map to find your nearest venue. If we’re not in your area yet, contact us – we might be opening a class near you soon.
We cover essential techniques in sketching, drawing, oil pastels, watercolours, and acrylics. You’ll also learn to temporarily mount your artwork for display. Returning students can explore new mediums, techniques, and projects tailored to their growing skills.
Absolutely! Our courses are designed with beginners in mind. Each term starts with an introduction to the basics, and lessons gradually build your skills, making them perfect for first-time artists.
Returning students tackle more advanced projects tailored to their experience, helping them build on what they’ve learned and continue progressing as artists.
Our art courses are for adults aged 18 and over. Many students are retired and looking for a new creative outlet, but we welcome a diverse mix of ages, making our classes a great opportunity for socialising and connecting with like-minded people.
We’ve never had a student who didn’t create something impressive during the course! While progress varies from person to person, most complete beginners are amazed at what they achieve by just the second or third week. With practice and dedication, you’ll be producing work you’re proud of by the end of the term.
